My nephew Steve and his wife Amanda (parents of above adorable children) have been kind enough to let us stay at their beach condo in Sea Isle City, NJ. It will be our home base while there and is a block off the beach and right downtown. Everyplace is walkable with the exception of my mom's and my sister's but we are not far from anywhere. It will make mom more comfortable that we/I won't be staying at her house so she can rest when she needs to. I need to work too so mornings will be working and afternoon will be mom and sister when she has time. I am anxious to get there now.
Sounds like a plan! If it's financially feasible I always prefer to stay at a hotel, or someplace other than with my hosts. It's just more comfortable for everyone involved, so it sounds like you've got the best of both worlds there.
