Yesterday I was sick and didn't go out at all. Could not get anything to come out of the voice and trying was futile. Debbie went out a couple time and walked the beach and went shopping. We ate in and went to bed early so we could get up this morning and get to the sand castle exhibition and instructions. We were going to enter the contest but decided we would check out the 400 vendors on the boardwalk instead. It was the better choice in the end and we walked a long, long way and bought some things. We brought our purchases back to the condo and I needed to go to the bank which we were going to do yesterday but didn't. We went to the bank, had lunch and came back and went back to the boardwalk to check on the progress of the sand castle competition and to complete our shopping. The sand castle competition was wimpy as there were only two people that did it besides the instructor and only one family with kids, but the results are below in the photos. The boardwalk vendors had some cool stuff though. Everything from a pet bakery to a nut hut and everything in between. We enjoyed the day and as you can see it was again an absolutely beautiful day. The sign about the condo available at the realty office was pretty funny and apparently changed by some pranking teenagers but it was quite amusing to those of us walking by. The sign on the beach said "Danger Keep Off Submerged Objects"..since we didn't go in the water we assumed it didn't apply to us and if it did how can you keep off something you didn't know is there?
I have to give a shout out to my granddaughter Lindsay on her election to Student Council. This is her first year in middle school and it is quite the big deal. I'm very proud of her!
Mom was feeling better today but very tired from two days of being under the weather. I'm hoping I will be well enough to be around her tomorrow. We will see.
Did you bring Fletcher a home made treat?!?
ReplyDeleteChris's team won today, it went down to the last play of the game.
The sand castles are cool!!! Glad you are feeling better!
Yeah, very happy for Lindsay and Chris. I'm sure Paige did a great job cheering too. We had a nice day and the castles were very cool.
ReplyDeleteOh and I was going to get Fletcher a treat but this lady had her dog there and it kept turning up it's nose so I thought they must not be very good..LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you continue to feel better - nice beach photos.
ReplyDeleteThankfully you have some time, so it's not like you have to run, run, run every minute. Any more yummy treats? I'm still thinking of that lobster roll from your last road trip. mmmmmmm
Carol, the best we have had so far is the sandwiches we bought in PA and brought here and the sticky buns fro the Amish market. Otherwise the food has just been ok. Debbie has the cold now too so we are taking it easy. We are both sitting here planning our return route home. We think we are going to go to Shanksville to see the 911 memorial there.
ReplyDeleteOh and we continually think about the lobster rolls too..lol!
