Wildwood or Bust September 11, 2012

We had a nice dinner last night with mom and my sister.  We got up to another cool beautiful morning in NJ.  I started working and Debbie was the domestic goddess and fixed coffee and toast.  Debbie had to find a FEDEX drop box and I was waiting for some things to be scanned to me from the office so we headed south on Ocean Drive from Sea Isle to Townsend's Inlet then across the bridge to Avalon to see the expensive houses then onto Stone Harbor and my favorite place Island Art which carries  pictures and accessories to decorate your perfect beach decor.  We called mom to see if we could come get her for lunch or bring her something and she said she was too weak today to go. She just gets worn out over the least little activity. There was another place Debbie wanted to check out called the Wayward Gardner and we found it too.  After that we headed to Wildwood where we stopped and had lunch in North Wildwood at the Star Diner.  We then took at nostalgic look at my childhood vacations which was a real walk down memory lane for me.  At dinner last night my sister and I had mom and Debbie in stiches talking about the production of what it was like just walking to the beach each day from the "summer rental" we had.  It was 4 long blocks from the beach.  My dad was a stickler for doing things his way which was usually the hard way.  Anyway, I couldn't believe how many of the old 50's style motels were still there!  We headed back home and I finished up my office stuff and then we walked over to the beach for awhile, then had dinner and Debbie is checking emails while I'm writing the blog.  The people on the porch with the beer posed for us to take their picture..it was quite funny.

  1. Oh those Wildwood Days. People on the porch were funny but not as funny as their yard art of the Mexican and his burro. Somehow that doesn't seem to fit in Wildwood. Have fun!!

    1. Dave those people were a hoot. I didn't notice them as I was trying to take some shots out of Debbie's window but they caught her eye as we drove away. She backed the car up and they were laughing and posed for the photo. We thought the same thing..we weren't sure which was funnier them or the burro!

  2. I'm thinking somewhere along the line we are related to the beer drinking porch dwellers lol
Noticeably absent from your photo album is the Mango Motel, is it still there?!?
